Saroori lays foundation of Guest House at  Kishtwar

Addresses public gathering at Charwah, Malanu, attends Baisakhi Mela

                        Kishtwar April 15:  Minister for Roads and Buildings, Mr. G.M.Saroori today inspected 33 km Kahara-Jai road in Kishtwar, coming up at an accumulated cost of Rs. 41 crore, under Central Road Fund (CRF). Under phase 1, Rs. 21 crore are being incurred on 16 km road while Rs. 20 crore have been earmarked for completion of remaining 17 km road under phase 2.

  The Minister was informed that under phase 1, Rs. 5 crore have been expended, so far, and  14 km road, upto Halara, as been made moterable  which will connect  Kahara with Bhaderwah and Bhalesa.

                The Minister also laid foundation of Guest House in the premises of Dak Bungalow, Kishtwar to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.37 crore.

                Meanwhile, Mr. Saroori addressed several public gatherings at Charwah, Malanu and Chowghan villages. 

                At Charwah, the Minister said that Golai, Tanta, Malanu, Bitola, Nagni, Kencha, Batyas, Jakyas, Kinso, and Inloo would be developed with all necessary public utility services, adding that a massive development plan has been formulated to establish a vast road network in the area to provide road connecting to all unconnected areas. He said that Chabba-Galai-Thadkaie, Jora-upper jora and Tata-Draman-Kota roads would be taken up shortly under PMGSY to increase the road connectivity in the district. He said the land acquisition process has already been started, adding that compensation to the owners of the land, whose land has been acquired for the road and other development projects, has also been provided in most of the cases.

Mr. Saroori said that  Kawar, Kiru and Pakal Dool power projects would go a long way in tackling the power crisis in the State, besides providing employment to a large number of educated and skilled youth of these hilly areas.  He said Rittli Power Project coming up at Drabshalla would be completed shortly.  He advised the educated youth to get the necessary technical training as per the requirement of the job, for which Government has set up Industrial Training Institutions (ITI) in every part of the State . He said the services of surplus staff of Dool Hasti power project would be utilized  in upcoming power projects,.

The Minister said that the Government has launched NREGA scheme aimed at providing jobs to the unskilled and skilled labour forces of the remote areas, adding that the daily rate has also been raised from Rs. 70 to Rs. 110.

Referring to the promotion of health sector in the State, Mr. Saroori said that Union Health Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad is keen to improve health services in  the State. He said the proposal  of establishing a Sub Health Center at every 5 km and a Health Center at every 10 km in the  hilly and rural areas, will ensure  functioning of health institutions round the clock. He said that 4500 posts of doctors have been created to meet the requirement.

The Minister said that the revolutionary steps, initiated by Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister of the State, have changed the development scenario of the State., adding that construction of Hajj Houses at Srinagar and Jammu, Srinagar Assembly complex, Yatra Bhawan, Tulip Garden, sanctioning of new districts and blocks, opening of new colleges and universities, up-gradation of SKIMS and GMC, Jammu to bring them at par with AIIMS, New Dehli are  exemplary decisions of Mr. Azad. He expressed happiness that the Government led by Mr. Omar Abdullah is taking bold steps on the developmental front which will transform the socio-economic profile of the State.

 Had PDP not withdrawn support to the Azad lead coalition formation in July 2008, Mr, Saroori said that Mr. Azad  70,000 persons  would have been provided in the Govt jobs besides providing unemployment allowance to educated youth of the State., He said that  withdrawing support was a conspiracy hatched by the enemies inimical peace and progress of the State .

Mr. Sroori appealed the people to prepare themselves for local bodies elections and choose the representatives who can serve them better. He said people can judge  the works done by the Congress Party for the welfare of the people, particularly living in rural and hilly areas.

The Minister also attended a function at Charwah, organized in connection with Final Cricket match played between Indloo Cricket Club and Kund Batyas Cricket club. He announced that a sports stadium would be developed at Charwah to promote sports activities in the area. Besides, distributing prizes among the winner and runner up teams, the Minister disbursed Rs. 5000 each to both the teams as a token of encouragement. He also distributed sports kits among 12 teams.

                Later, the Minister participated in a Baisakhi Mela organized at parade ground in Chogan Kishtwar.

He also attended a function arranged by the employees of NHPC and INTC.
