“If political leaders of the Valley can talk of their AZADI or express their pro Pakistan stance or anti India attitude, why can’t I plead for the mitigation of the miseries of my people of Jammu region who are facing discrimination for the last over 60 years. If Government of India has better solution with it to solve the problems of Jammu region within the frame work of Constitution it shall be highly welcomed not only by me but the people of Jammu region too,” Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Sham lal said in an interview to State Times



Having targeted by his own partymen, opposition and various other organizations against his "Azadi remarks" for Kashmiris, separate Jammu State and UT status for Ladakh, at Bani rally in district Kathua, Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma said that his outburst was in response to the venom being spit by former Health and Medical Education Minister and National Conference MLA, Dr Mustafa Kamaal.

"It is against this background that I made a strong plea for running the coalition smoothly, which can happen only when no room is left for discrimination and the aspirations of all the three regions of the State are respected. In this context, I said that if we do not adhere to this principle then the forces who want UT for Ladakh, separate State for Jammu and autonomous (independence) status for Kashmir will gain momentum in their designs. I urged the Congress rally to be conscious how best their interests can be safeguarded" Sham Lal said.

Arun Gupta I fail to understand what wrong the minister has said.Wat I got from his speech,he never supported term Azaadi for Kashmir but he only advocated separate Jammu state and UT for Leh against the so called svayatata as being advocated by NC for KashmirI think he has a point otherwise Jammu and Ladhakh will never flourish.From years we are advocating united Jammu and Kashmir but what result it has yielded ?People of Kashmir are dominating the whole state.Maximum jobs and admissions are being captured by them not because of their ability but because of their dominance.Injustice is being done with people of Jammu.If Jammu is not separated a day will come when The same situation will be created in Jammu also as we are facing in Kashmir.So I advocate Kashmir a UT under direct control of New Delhi and separate Jammu state.

Ravinder Kumar Verma well said by the minister sham lal sharma ..give ajadi to kadhmir , ut status to ladakh and make jammu a separate state ...as now we all indians are fedup with anti jammu policies of kashmiri politicians...in actual saying jammu needs ajadi from kadhmiri politics...what do you say ?
