News (26.01.2011) : State award to Saleem Pandit TOI correspondent

Jammu and Kashmir government has announced state award to Mohammad Saleem Pandit of Times of India for excellence in the field of journalism .
Being in the field of journalism for over two decades Mohammad Saleem Pandit, presently working as special correspondent for the Times of India, joined the national news paper in the year 2000.
Saleem Pandit has extensively travelled within and outside the state to do spot as well as exclusive stories . Pandit was part of the delegation of Indian journalists to visit Pakistan under the aegis of SAFMA in 2004 . He did several stories on political and social life in Pakistan .
He has participated in the leadership programme in US in the year 2005 and has travelled several states in the US.
Saleem Pandit has covered 2002 and 2008 assembly elections in J&K and visited remotest polling booths to get maximum coverage of the elections in the paper. His main trust was on highlighting the problems faced by the people with regard to basic amenities.
